Aw nah I cant do that. I have terrible luck.

Would have to disagree with that comment. Blackjack, for me, is all about mathematics and probabilities and I have done quite nicely from it as a minor hobby.
Tall Poppy syndrome ?
You are forgetting the role of luck old boy which is 49% of life
In the day, I used to be part of a card counting team in Vegas: we would have up to 20 counters and one "big player" who would sit down when a counter had a good table. Otherwise, it is obvious what you are doing, as a card counter bets small when the deck is bad and bets maximum when it turns in his favour. This all stopped on one day when I felt a hand on my shoulder. I was taken into the basement of the casino, photographed, then driven into the desert and made to dig my own grave. I was lying in it as they drove away. A not-so-subtle hit to stay away. In 24 hours, I was banned from every casino in the world. (They invented facial recognition.) Then I went back and asked if I could play poker (it's not against the house)... sure the greedy buggers said and the legend was born (I mean my apprenticeship began).
I think glasses, hoodies, masks, and any attempt to cover the face should be banned. Tinted eyewear stops players from seeing pupil dilation, which can be a tell. Although I find players who try too hard to disguise one avenue of tells, inadvertently exaggerate others.
I was in Vegas during the time Casino is set. I knew the real person that Joe Pesci's character was based on, Nicki Santoro. He once asked me to fix a game, which I refused to do (I didn't know him well then). He went berserk, made all sorts of threats. Then he calmed down, and we had a drink together. Said he admired my pluck. Then proceeded to describe the 27 people he had killed. "This one I stuck him in the eye, squealed like a pig" - this sort of thing. The next day, we played golf together - for some reason, I was a bit off that day, and he won rather easily.
Yes, I've played heads-up against Tom Dwan, and he still owes me and half of Vegas a considerable sum of money. He is estimated to owe around 30 million dollars in total. The guy was once a good player, but is batshit crazy now.
He is almost exactly like Nicky. The same psycho, crazy terrier vibe.
Just Google, "how much does Tom Dwan owe?" Then, about his mental relapse in London. Or read his shit on X. Other than that, the source is me.
Yes. I thought it would be less confusing this way. We just called him "Sir".
