Story that my friend Dave told me the other day when i was having lunch with him.
Dave contacted an escort and she asked him to pay $70 upfront as a deposit. He felt a bit unsure but went ahead and transferred the money.
He then drove to Newmarket to meet the escort, Dave went to the motel that she told him to but when he asked for the room number she asked him for more money, $130 this time which amounts to $200 in total as a full payment for the one hour booking before he could see the girl. If he don't pay, booking will be cancelled and he will lose the deposit. Dave felt stuck and paid it, hoping to meet the girl.
But as soon as he paid, they blocked him and he couldn't contact them anymore. He is not going to report it as he feels ashamed to tell the cops his reason of being scammed.
The lesson here? Never pay deposit up front. The only time i remembered paying a deposit up front was to a legitimate agency, it was for a Premium Japanese escort and she was only in the country for 2 weeks for escorting. They do not want to waste her time so they want deposit payments up front. That is understandable, for their normal girls they never asked for deposits.
Beware when private escort with no registered physical address ask for deposits, just say no and assume it is a scam. If unsure , ask the bros on the forum before you go and donate the money to scammers.
