I have my first SM booked in and I just had a question even though it might be a dumb one. When you have a shower before and after the service as it says does that cut into your time at all?
Any other advice you experienced punters might have for a first timer would be greatly appreciated.

yes, the shower is part of the booking time.
some providers are very accurate with time provided. service to the exact hour. some shoo you out early. sometimes, you get lucky and go overtime.
sometimes i shower before. If you tell the girls that, they are usually ok with no shower. it might give them a bit more confidence if you jump in for a 3 min freshen up though. sometimes a little freshen up is nice.

if you are coming straight from a building site and you need a 20 min shower to freshen up, your best to do that off site prior so you dont eat too much into your booking.
 
Most providers include it in the time. I understand why thet make you have a shower, is a little annoying if you are like me and always have a good shower before leaving for the booking. I usually just jump in and give my junk a quick clean and I'm out in like 2 mins. Unless you have to mess around getting the water warn enough.
