Have you ever gone to a concert by yourself?

There's a concert that I really want to go to but being introverted as hell, the thought of seeing some I know (probably with their loved ones / SO, whereas I'm by my lonesome) gives me an anxiety attack lol
 
I do it a lot. I find it fun because I get to enjoy the band and sometimes even make some new friends or connections there. I am not beholden to organising friends/family members to get tickets and turn up on time etc (like herding cats sometimes).

Running into people I know only happens occasionally and is alright. I just stop for a bit of a chat and then get on with the evening.
 
yes so many times! Absolutely go by yourself!!! If the options are going alone or missing out, go!!!!! Ignore everyone else in the room and just watch the band you’re there for, you’ll have a blast, and don’t have to cater to or consider anyone else’s wants!
 
Yes I have been to a few and have a couple booked I am going to alone, so far I have had the best times. My friends who still live in NZ don't particularly like the music I like, so id rather go by myself than miss out and I highly recommend and encourage you to give a go. Most of the time you meet new people who have a shared interest in the gig itself.

You could even drop the concert your going to here and perhaps some of your forum dwellers will reach out. xx
 
Do it! Concerts are mostly a solo activity anyway once it gets started.

I'm a big advocate for riding solo occasionally. Cafés, movies, concerts, hell yeah take yourself out on a fun little date night.

I do like to do things by myself, going to cafes, and going to the movies etc. but concerts seem too open and maybe going by myself and encountering others who come as a couple seems too big of a mental barrier for me to overcome

Been there at one point, so can understand the feels, you honestly just gotta really say FUCK IT and i really emphasise the FUCK IT. See how it goes when you say fuck it and do it, it either works or doesn’t & if it does it just snowballs and you end up doing even more things similar to concerts jn open settings that you don’t realise & the mental games end up going down the drain after it & you end up happier than before. That is if it does work out lol, if not then oh well you tried
 
Been to a heap of gigs on my own, agree with others definitely don't worry about it and head along! Sure most of the time it's not quite as fun as going with a crew, but still a lot more fun than not going and living with the regret of doing so.
I don't think there's any undue reason to be concerned about seeing couples in particular at a gig, unless it's some sort of romance slow jams for lovers night or something. Otherwise you're no more likely to encounter couples at gigs than any other public space. There will be lots of people there who aren't obviously partnered up.

Tangentially relevant, at a solo gig I attended a while back I bumped into a WG who had jacked me off twice in a SM session a week or two previously :ROFLMAO: normally of course I'd play by the generally accepted 'pretend you didn't see each other' rules, but she not only said hello but introduced me to her friends. They left shortly after the gig actually started, but yeah...she wasn't there as part of a couple either!
