L’amour Hire Rooms - Don’t Bother

I worked here for about a month and my experience was horrific. I was so excited to work here as the place seemed lovely and it wasn’t in the city therefore more discreet and I was ready to start working privately so it seemed perfect to start off with as a room hire place. I’ve been in the industry for five years and worked at several agencies that were wonderful, treated you with so much respect and consideration and this is the first time I have encountered management so unprofessional and toxic.
Ivy, the manager can never keep her story straight. At first she will insist that you can communicate to her whenever you require, that she will always support you (within two weeks she basically stopped replying to my messages, that L’amour is a safe space (I was SA’d by the male worker there during a double bi booking and she claimed to have addressed the situation with him and when I asked him if that happened he said no) and that it is an upmarket working environment when the only thing “upmarket” about it is the fact that it’s extremely overpriced for the workers to pay. They try so hard with pushing a certain aesthetic of the place meanwhile it’s actually disgusting.
The place is filthy, there’s faecal stains left on the showers, the place never gets cleaned properly, the manager condones violence, racism, unethical behaviour and poor hygiene standards and there are multiple clients that can attest to toxicity of this place.
It’s also right next to a karaoke bar that is open until 5 in the morning so it’s very distracting, NOT discreet and inconvenient to do overnights (if you’re a worker)
There’s a reason this place is in so much debt - because nobody wants to hire it out and you’re better off hiring a private worker elsewhere. I’ve made a formal complaint to NZPC so hopefully this place gets shut down.
