I mean its a preference for me, and providers should of course be free to market however they like best.
I think its mostly that a tiered service is often communicated in a way that its kinda vague, and when you get in the room everything is always the next tier up (in the hope that you'll then pay for an extra or an upgrade). So if a tier system is misused it actually makes mutual understanding and consent harder to manage not easier (usually).
My preference is either
- to say exactly what I want and pay for it exactly as you say, like pick n mix lollies, or
- to pick providers that have 2 tiers (ie normal and "kitchen sink") , or who's service is expensive but explicitly includes a lot.

See when you word it like thay totally understand...to be fair in my case I do explicitly list what is/isn't included in each for clarity and do say in there if there's anything to be unsure about to please ask...being neurodivergent I can't do the vague no-clarity thing it makes me anxious

Fully feel you on the 🐿 - cause yeah I feel like both myself and the clients I seem to get along best with so far are always a bit neurospicy like me and yeah pick and mix style is definitely I think awesome for those of lucky enough to have a nice chill-paced brain - I aspire to be that but ADHD medication sure gives me more focus and accuracy but changed absolutely nothing about the general brain speed There's no max length, but just thought it showed a bit more clearly the pricing scale to put in the time scale I did at the time to be honest lol.

Of course, makes sense. We have the same thing for dodgy clients etc and as in all industries it's helpful to know what you're getting - makes it safer and easier for everyone.
