On the back of the Malibu situation from last night.
I'm well aware that certain things people say on here influences some people into doing things that they shouldn't (the 'just stick a finger up her ass without asking permission first' crew being prime candidates).
I am just wondering if maybe now that you've seen what sort of behavior you are encouraging if anyone might have a bit a pause before they say the edgy thing in the future?
For most of us here, we're relatively decent people that understand the parameters and are fine with that.
Anyways, that was just my thought after ruminating on what was reported and the bad taste it left in my mouth.

Mate, I am perplexed how you think posting an opinion piece that also takes oblique potshots at other faceless SF members is going to shift any dials. Even the neighbours dog that used to race out and bark at passing cars has finally realised it is a futile pursuit. At best it just introduces angst and noise into your life

We do not know each other on this site (I certainly don't know anyone) so who gives a rats what my opinion is, or theirs. It is of no consequence we are random strangers.

The supposed glue that makes this place tick is punter reviews, anything else is just noise.

And yep I have been dragged into pointless squabbles on a number of occasions but like the neighbours dog I have finally come to my slow learning senses.

I highly doubt that it will shift any dials.
But that is no reason not to call out bullshit when you see it.
That is the responsibility part of having free speech.
In my opinion.

Maybe, just maybe, some of them have a conscience and they'll think before being edgelords in the future. But I actually agree with the substance of what you are saying in that it almost certainly won't.
Do I think people give a fat rat's ass about my opinion? No, my opinion matters about as much as everyone's ... not hardly at all.

I'm firmly in the free speech is a good thing camp. Arbitrary and inconsistently applied rules don't help anyone. It's a key part of what fucked Adult Forum. (DND being one example of this but also mods deleting anything remotely controversial.)

But (as the saying goes) with freedom comes responsibility. We all just need to remember to treat everyone as a human being. That applies to fellow contributors here, sex workers, and people of certain ethnicities or cultural backgrounds, among other things. If someone crosses a line either in what they say on here or what do out in the real world then we should call them out on it. It's never ok to mistreat or dehumanise someone even if they provided poor service, they smell bad, they have health issues (mental or otherwise), they're poor or desperate, etc etc.

There are a few threads lately that have crossed the lines of what most people would find acceptable.

It is an interesting conundrum. Evidently many SF members have joined after disenchantment with AF. The level of censorship, supposed 'simp' (a popular term used by a few here on SF) WG sentiment and bias on AF. SF provided a breath of fresh air where some of those that felt aggrieved on AF also felt they could speak more openly on this site without said censorship including DND constraints.

Attempting to shut these people down or stifle their opinions, even if they are considered unsavoury to some, maybe many, is always going to be a fool's errand. People's attitudes are their attitudes. They left AF for the very reason that they can air those maybe controversial opinions without the constraints on AF.

So I say if people find the attitudes and opinions of some distasteful, either ignore them or stop frequenting this site. Because they are not going to change, they will just double down.

I generally agree.
However I never advocated for being the arbiter of another's speech.
I advocated for people taking some personal responsibility when it comes to exercising their speech and maybe having a bit of control of themselves.
As freedom of speech is not freedom from consequence, and sometimes the consequences of what you say falls on someone else's shoulders.

I think pretty much anything goes on here so long as it is legal and not intentionally harmful to the vulnerable.
Example: anyone suggesting anything to do with super-young looking girls or sailing too close to the consent lines.
We do get guys on here making homophobic remarks but I think we're all big enough to deal with that.

Personally, I enjoy punters free speech on here. Sat what you will, it shows what kind of person you are.

I can't believe we actually have someone on this forum questioning whether we should have free speech. It sounds as if Dee is opposed to free speech. Do you want the forum to implement DND or something? The whole point this forum has done so well and has buried AdultForum is because we do things different around here. We already have lost some members as the culture on here has changed, but to just replicate AdultForum would be a quick and certain death.

I am certainly opposed to punters blackmailing working girls with negative feedback or posting vindictive reviews just for the sake of harming a sex worker. Especially if that person never even saw that particular sex worker - and we have had a couple of cases like that. I am taking Malibu at face value, but to be blunt there is always a second side to a story which we haven't heard. But it seems as if some people are attempting to use the Malibu situation to force DND around here or something.

Just because you can say something, doesn't mean that you should say something.
Now I am not saying that the reprobate that Malibu talked about was entirely inspired to be an asshole due to comments on SF.
But I am willing to bet that some comments helped to cement the idea that you can do whatever you want.
Again, I am not suggesting that anyone here starts to be the word police on everyone else, but I am suggesting that if we were all the word police on ourselves therr would be one less avenue for normalising scumbag behavior. (Personal opinion)

Figure it out dude.

I am not questioning free speech, I am advocating for personal responsibility.
Read the multiple times I have said that.

So mostly what I want is for edgelords, like you appear to be, to actually think about the consequences of some of the things you say, before you say them, and maybe think better of it.
Because your throw away comment might just be putting someone else at risk, all so you can get a cheap giggle at reactions.

Doesn't seem like an overly complex idea to grasp.
Worth a moment or two of proper thought, don't you think?

What about the personal responsibility of the dipshit that allows a random's internet comment on a forum to influence their behavior? We don't even know if he was influenced by what is said here, or if he even is a member. This stuff is like 25 years too late - see the backlash to Eminem's album (MMLP).

I do agree with you about the finger comment though, that crossed a line. That's the only example that I can think of where non consensual activity has been presented as if it's normal/acceptable. I don't think it's fair to use that as a brush to tar every member here.

Nothing you have said really has any value. Would you like us to stop writing reviews? Or just tone them down to a PG level?

You signed up on this forum last month and you haven't even written any reviews. All you seem to do on here is complain and argue with people. Why did you sign up? I'm 90% sure you are just a working girl pretending to be male. A wolf in sheep's clothing trying to bring the forum down or at least bend it to your will.
