The global economic punting downturn

I’ve seen a lot online about how some SWs have found the current economic situation difficult to keep their operations open. Maybe it’s not just a NZ thing.
Today I landed in Dubai on a couple of hour layover and I put on my WhatsApp status a little photo of landing in Dubai and the next one leaving Dubai.
Literally moments later I’m getting messages from 3 local SWs I’ve seen asking when I’m back, why I’m not staying longer and about coming to see them.
That’s not normal in my experience anywhere or at any time before. I suspect that the punters everywhere are tightening their belts not just at home.
Earlier this year I was in Florida and in general discussion I was told the same thing. In Sydney two months ago again the same.
I know it’s not going to be the same for every SW or punter. Just what I’ve noticed.
