I visited Vietnam a couple of years ago for work. Not much time for punting unfortunately, but I had a couple of days in Hanoi before going to the provinces.
I just found a girl on Massage Republic, about $100 USD/1.5 million Dong for an hour, she was young, hot, tattooed and spoke good English. You could do a lot worse.
At night, in the touristy areas there's a ton of guys on scooters who will come up to you advertising girls, but no idea how legit any of that is.
I also banged a couple of local girls for free. If you're willing to put a bit of work in ahead of time on Tinder or whatever it'll probably be quite easy, it certainly wasn't difficult for me.

- lots of options in the big cities. Massage Republic not a bad option as @xd4252 says, though the only gal I saw off there was working through one of the local FS shops anyway though I was paying her directly.
You will probably pay at least as much tipping a masseuse at a hotel extra to wank you off + the original price for the massage as you will for a SM with HJ and BJ at any of the bigger SM places. You are very unlikely to be able to upgrade from SM to FS at the SM shops, their cover with the government doesn't run to allowing that sort of thing.
Every establishment I dealt with in Ho Chi Minh city was a 'pay up front' type situation, and one even took credit card payments, but depending on what sort of outfit you're dealing with some apparently may have some sort of policy where you pay for the room and then seperately pay a tip- either to them directly or to the girl- afterwards. So you want to establish what the situation is and the full upfront cost beforehand, which is easy enough to do with the magic of translation apps and messaging.

- Unless you're going to buy a local SIM, get the local messaging app (Zalo) and WhatsApp set up in advance on whatever phone/phone number you're going to use over there, and consider getting an eSIM (if your phone supports it) for data. You probably should buy a local SIM.
- There is not necessarily credit card coverage outside touristy areas. You will need cash to pay many places.
- If you're there a while it's worth having a card from an outfit like Wise to get raped slightly less on currency conversion fees (though you still want to keep the number of individual withdrawals- as opposed to credit card payments- you make as there can be fees based on the number of withdrawals made). On that note, it's also worth checking online as to what ATMs are the least exorbitant in terms of withdrawal fees (before we even start talking about your bank).
- Tipping to some degree is fairly normalized... so if you're paying for a service that you intend to use again, you might consider doing it.
If you travel to Hanoi, highly recommend Nhac Duong Lau. Not really close to the old quarter, but best in terms of service and facilities. Much better than the extra you get at your hotel massage (every hotel has one). If you have telegram, you'll see which girls they have on the day much like the roster here in NZ. When you come there will be a foot massage, and they'll give you an ipad with photos of all girls available that day. The foot massage lady will probably try to wank you off for a small tip (~vnd200k or $10), up to you. Then you pick the girl and come up to the room, start off by a sauna and in 5-10 minutes the girl will come in. Try to get out of the sauna have a look and if you want to change , now's the time. Then it's bath time and you will have a bath where the girl clean you top to toe, even washing your hair and drying it after. Then the sensual massage. As a rule of thumb the tip will be exactly the same as the fee, say vnd2m for 1 hour, then you're expected to tip the same to the girl. You'll tip at the very end. The girls will have to share part of their tips to the management as well, how much depending on the place. Except for full service which is strictly prohibited in every massage place, most girls will allows everything considered extras here in NZ. Normally intimate touch, kissing, and non covered BJ. 99.99% they don't speak English, but probably not that big a deal.
