Hey folks
Whats a good VPN recommendation don't mind paying for a good one multi users across nz.
Obviously I don't want my browsing history to show for the other people around nz (family)
I know we don't need VPN anymore for this site yay!

Cheers

If the problem is that you have let Chrome or Edge synchronize your web browsing history across devices and so people using computers that you've logged into with your Google account elsewhere can see your browsing history, emails, etc etc etc, then you need to sign out of those other devices and disable the insane settings to sync your browsing history (and GPS location tracking on your phone).

If you want someone else on the same computer, logged into the same Windows/MacOS account, to not see your browsing history, then just using a different web browser- and deleting browser history as Tor Browser does automatically when you exit by default- may be enough. Of course, having a separate web browser is obviously suspicious to anyone who spots it on the desktop/sees you using it.

Using a VPN can, potentially, add some further security, if you're routing your connections through some semi-free countries (non-EU, non-five eyes). However, it's not a panacea. Solely from the level of privacy- if you're using Chrome/Firefox/Edge etc with default settings, and you log into a Google account on that browser, the fact that you've logged into that account will mean that basically everything you browse will be tracked by Google anyway because they have ad widgets or things like extra fonts loaded from Google servers on basically every website around (turning off every tracking setting on your Google account will help a bit, but still means trusting Google).

You can get some degree of protection against tracking based on browser ads etc by using a VPN, and by only using Google or Microsoft services in a separate browser from the one that you use for regular browsing, or by using Firefox with 'Multi-Account Containers' (and using GMail etc only in a dedicated 'container' tab). But none of that would be protection against security service level tracking- Google and Microsoft store all your history as to what IP addresses you've ever accessed their services from*- so if you were, say, sending the Waiouru phone book to the Chinese, you'd want to use Tor as well, and wouldn't want to be logging in to your Google or Microsoft account or doing regular browsing while connected to a VPN to do the deed. I'd recommend avoiding illegal things.

If you are going to use a VPN, Mullvad or ProtonVPN are good options, and very cheap by comparison to most other things one spends money on.
