A couple if weeks back I txted a WG re FS . Was quickly txted back advising she was going on Holiday the next day. So I politely closed out the conversation. Fast forward to today. I’m at work and in the afternoon I receive a txt from said WG saying Hi Darling and advising she is back from holiday and looking forward to seeing me! Not sure how much of that message was seen by anybody else as it flash onto my I watch!! So my question is WTF!! Is this acceptable behavior ? Holy Cow I don’t want follow up txts fishing for work and follow up business unless instigated by me. Interested in your view and advice on how what to do next. Am I being unreasonable?

Sheeesh, poor you lol. Yeah if your not using agencies get a punting phone lol, the old school ones can do the job, only need to text & call from it

I understand where you are coming from in that you weren't expecting a txt.
Unreasonable? No.
But maybe a little coming in hot.
I think the best way for you to have tackled the original message string would have been to close off that you would consider contacting back in a couple of weeks if you were still interested in making a booking.
Thus making clear that any further contact would be initiated by you.
Then if she contacte you out of the blue, then that would be out of order.

Is it acceptable behaviour?
Well that is subjective, what would bother one person wouldn't another.
I think she probably thought she was being helpful by letting you know that you could contact her again, I don't think malice was involved (at least from your desription).
Is it usual behaviour? No, but also not statistically unheard of, as it happens somewhat often, maybe 1/4 or less.

Just my opinion.

If you’re not keen on acquiring a punt SIM or similar, you can always silence / mute / block the WG number so it doesn’t pop up a notification on your phone. You still receive it but can check it on your own private time.

On android you can set it to not show notification previews from numbers that are not in your contacts.

But yeah, get a second phone, or if your phone can do E-sim or has a second sim slot do that too and just disable the punting sim when you aren't using it.

Also, whatsapp, line, wechat are good to use, and just turn notifications off. My personal nightmare would be having people in my car, and a random WG messages me with "Hey baby......." and I have to come up with an awkward story for my colleague or family member.
