Also in one unfortunately memorable punt at a total dive the entire room stank of stale ciggy smoke (windows and curtains never opened apparently), I left my clothes lying on the sofa in the room and when I left (long before my time was up) the smell had transferred from the sofa to my clothes. Bloody gross.
Always hated it back in the day when people could smoke in pubs etc that you clothes still reek the next day. Even sheets if gone to bed soon as gotten home from going out. Horrible stuff!
