I think it's worth remembering that vendors can decline service just as easily as customers can ditch vendors. Customers do not have any legal right to service from a vendor. If you piss off Countdown enough, they are allowed to refuse to sell you food.

It doesn't sound to me like @sbq is a bad person, but being new to this, hasn't yet read what kinds of things piss off providers. Twitter is a good place to hear providers complaining about the behaviour that annoys them most, and occasionally explaining what their ideal booking request looks like (five exchanges or less is popular). It's not too tricky to do right by providers, and when they're happy, you've got a happy provider.
