Yes that ONLY works if she speaks English well enough. In Sue's case I was told by the handler she knew some English.... but in reality, pretty much nothing.
I try not to bring extra cash and more importantly, not to bring my wallet. It's a feeling that while i'm having a shower she may have a snoop and 1 or 2 bills may go missing or my ID gets taken, or a card goes missing. Overall it's 1 less item to be concerned about when you're in a premise of punting and not leaving something behind such as your wallet falls out of your pocket when getting dressed etc.
