Hey all
I'm working for an agency in Auckland at the mo have been curious about making the switch to independent work wanting opinion on why you would or wouldn't. Pros and cons pleasee 😇

Talking to other Sex Workers is more beneficial from a business case prospective.

From a client view point agencies are easier for making bookings ring up and book . Independents can be more more difficult to get hold of and finding out when available . There are also half way options such as secret companions and the Apartment.

At the end of the day to Quote the fellow playwright Shakespeare
"Whether Agency or Independent, the Lady maketh the booking"

It would probably be best to ask some working girls if you haven't already. I think I prefer Agency these days as it is easy to book (usually they have rosters) and also easy to find the place etc. It's always a pain in the arse having to tip toe up a residential apartment building to see a working girl. Or even worst a motel or hotel.

I guess the agencies have the added benefit that they already have a customer base so if you are at a good one you are almost guaranteed to get clients. It might be a bit slower being independent as you have to rely on your online ad especially if you don't have a following of regulars.

I guess its kind of a balance in that you keep more of your booking while independent (having costs is another issue) whereas at some of the more popular agencies you might get more bookings. I guess its same with your booking rates, sure you can raise them higher and make more money per booking but you are probably going to get less clients so you might actually make less money. Anyway I believe this has kind of been discussed here before if you haven't read the other threads.

Independent pros

* More booking money
* Own boss
* Easily schedule your own hours

Independent cons

* More costs (for accommodation/working place)
* Less security (especially if you work out of your own premises/apartment)
* Possibly less bookings (relying only on internet ad)

Agency pros

* Don't have to worry about accommodation, security, or doing your own bookings
* May get guaranteed customers

Agency cons

* They take a bigger cut of your booking money
* Have to deal with a boss/manager
* Have to work on a roster
* Some agencies don't advertise you online (on NZG & Escortify etc)
* May have to deal with work places conflicts (with the other girls)

A lot of it depends on the particular Agency and I guess different girls have different experiences.

Going indy seems to work for some girls. I had a friend back in the day who worked at an agency, then got fired for alleged drug use (lol). Then her and a friend teamed up and got an apartment together and worked out of that. They both used to live there too. They didn't work in the industry that long though.

As above. Some agencies allow the girls to also advertise independently if they charge more than the agency.

Some ladies develop a private sideline of regulars. Charge the same or slightly less ( but keep the agency cut ) ie off the books. These selected clientele have to be aware of repercussions to the girl if the agency finds out. Some girls will have only one or two so it’s not too obvious. Or impacts the agency.

Some independents join agencies when times get tough.

As others have said “ talk to some others in the game “. We punters don’t know everything-even if we think we do.

If you are real sneaky you might be able to go on "holiday" or go on tour and try out working independent for a short time just to test the water and go back to an agency if you find out its not worth it. You'd have to be cautious about pissing off your agency though.

With independent work it can be oftentimes difficult to get work but you also have more freedom, in the sense you can advertise whenever and whatever you want, Tour the country etc,

It can be risky however so if you do branch out to independent work make sure you have someone who can look after you and keep you safe!

Good luck on your future endeavors kittygirlcate
