NBA FINALS who is your money on?

I had the Celtics to meet the Nuggets in the Finals, so what do I know.

C's have too many weapons, and if they're hitting their 3s then too hard to beat. Imagine the Mavs will take a game somewhere when the Celtics shooting is off.

save your forum credits boys. soon we can use credits to predict sporting events outcomes. A fun add on that the admin has been working on. Announcement will be made real soon.

Great fourth quarter run by the Mavs...but way too one-dimensional (ok, two-dimensional in this game) in the three quarters prior to that. Celtics ball movement is far superior. This game was a great chance for Dallas to arrest momentum with Porzingis out, but the series is done now.

RIP Logo Jerry West.

So Dallas was probably always going to sneak a game at some stage in the series - although for their sake that really needed to be Game 3, rather than 4 - but comfortably winning every quarter for a near 40-point demolition is quite the 'sneak'. Third-highest blowout in Finals history. Speaking of history, as most probably know or can guess no team has ever come back from a 3-0 series hole in the championship round. The good news for the Mavs is that obviously their defense is clicking at the same time as their offense, and Boston does have recent history in letting series they should have won slip through their fingers. The bad news is that the Celtics will surely have an absolute rocket put up them for the next game in their house, and of course Porzingis is still waiting in the wings to influence a close contest.

Most bizarrely unexpected thing I've seen in the NBA recently, as a fan in NZ, is Charles Barkley holding up a 'Mavs In 7' sign which features the tino rangatiratanga flag.
After watching the vid it's clear that it's courtesy of a fan who must have some link.

I have no great love for the Celtics, but you must admire that they've now kicked clear of the Lakers once again in holding a record 18 titles. Tbf I don't have any great love for the Lakers with 17 either, I usually back the underdogs and prefer the championships to be spread around a little more 😂 and I still maintain that a more competitive and entertaining series would have seen the Nuggets representing the West.

Congrats to the champs, and to Jayson Tatum who is now free to negotiate the expected largest contract in NBA history ($USD315 mil, 5 year extension).
Imagine the punting the likes of us mortals could do with just a smidgen of that 🤪
