One does not wish to "bang on about it" but is there a solution to the spam problem yet please

I have now got to the state when as soon as notice the spam I "ignore" the poster and mark the forums as read.
A suggestion though, could a couple of members who log in daily be given the ability to delete these new accounts (including posts) as soon as they see them. It would make everyones life easier and improve the quality of the forum.
Obviously there would have to be trust in the individuals chosen that they would not abuse the privilege.

Suggested new members only be able to do one post per day for 2 weeks but there was no interest . Be happy to become a spam deleter if this was applied .

Yes, most forums have restrictions. Sometimes moderating the first few posts.

It's frustrating trying to figure out which threads actually have new posts...

Spam reached a new level today , got a personal Spam conversation message from some bot looking for a friend.

Anyone else had a person tin of spam ?

I reckon its not even a bot doing it. Just some dude creating an account every day just to spam our forum and now send PM spam. What an absolute arsehole you'd have to be to do that

Easy to spot, if every new post is something that joined today and they have 45 posts, 99.99% chance they are full of spam. To doubly verify not the 0.01% genuine new member, open one thread to check . Once confirmed Push the ignore button and Wallah all there posts are gone easy peesy lemon squeezy.
