Signatures

Hey folks,

I tried adding a signature in my settings, but sadly, it doesn't seem to show up when I post.

Presumably they're turned off? No big deal, but would be a useful feature.

It would be if it automatically posted. I had to paste that one manually sadly, when I saw it didn't automatically appear.

Hmm, odd. I set up a simple signature some time ago, which does seem to work ("There goes Ezy, Ezy Rider, Ridin' down the highway of desire...").
It may be rejecting a signature with a link, for spam-protection reasons...

Interesting, don't think I've seen your signature pop up. Oh well. It's perhaps for the best if it reduces all the posting clutter.

But if I'm not logged in I don't see that, or your "Manually pasted" signature either.
It's possible that there is some security setting that is preventing anyone else reading it.
When I'm not logged in it doesn't show quoted material either.

Personally, I find signatures annoying--visual distractions that I have to continually skip over. And they are becoming more common.

For those who feel similarly, you can stop them from being displayed by:

1. Clicking on your username in the top right hand corner of this page
2. Clicking on "Preferences"
3. Scrolling down to "Content options:"
4. Removing the tick from "Show people's signatures with their messages"
5. Clicking "SAVE"
