Ok so we have a female teacher in court. She groomed a student a 15 year old boy. She performed sex acts on him on a couple of occasions, sent him nude photos, gave him alcohol, buying him vapes.
Originally sentenced to 2 years and 1 month in prison and added to the sex offenders register.
On appeal sentence reduced to 10 months home detention. And she won't be added to the sex offenders register.
It's most likely had the offender had a been Male, and the victim a 15 year old girl, I doubt the sentence would have been so lenient.
Statutory rape isnt it ?
You'd expect jail time.

There's some creepy ladies out there. When I was at school there was one female teacher that was known to have sex with multiple school boys who would have been 13-15 at the time. And the worst part was she was ugly.

My favourite one was the hot South African water polo coach fucking all the boys on her waterpolo team. At least they were 18ish. She was 30 and married but couldn't control her himself around all those athletic young men in spedos. Would make a good porno plot. Here she is in action.

Jaimee Marie Cooney got 2 1/2 years for doing the same abuse with a couple of her Marlborough students in 2019 so surely the sentencing presidents are set for jail time

Justice system favors female, frankly society at large are more lenient toward female crime.

It's a privilege they paid for in the form of earnings 80 cents to our dollar in workplace from what I heard.

I thought the judge got it about right. Try not to concentrate on the custodial - or lack thereof - aspects, and consider the lifting of name suppression.

The latter is a far more potent punishment - every time the woman’s name is googled, her offending will come up.

The offending wasn’t prolonged and the guy was nearly sixteen. Just because male v female offending gets dealt with so punitively doesn’t justify similar unreasonableness here.

Agree, Johnny, M-F is quite different from F-M and are not treated equally in the justice system for obvious reasons.
The naming will mean she either has to live a lifetime with shame or change her name, identity. That is the far stronger punishment.

She was 10 years older and the difference is all the more when you consider the boy was 15. He could have easily been a virgin, a lot of men don't have sex until older than that. Would you feel the same way if 25 year old man drove a 15 year old girl to the pools carpark to preform sex acts?

Well the young man was a little traumatized apparently and his school work suffered. Got a little withdrawn. So he is a victim just like all the molested girls out there. In my view the sentence should not be viewed differently. No man is going to get 10 months home detention for the same rap.

Lol sounds like the young fella got a case of post nut regret... doubt theres a single guy on the forum that hasnt experienced that. Prob just needs someone to tell him its normal and suck it up.

Also have first hamd knowledge of a male trainee teacher who pushed boundaries to the limit possibly beyond. Epsom Girls did a very good hush hush job on that. From my perspective the age difference was very small circa 2 years so yeah criminal charges were a bridge to far. But yeah beyond that purely because of the proffesional standards teachers are meant to have a new career is needed imo.

my comments a bit tongue in cheek but in all seriousness he'd likely only be traumatised by getting found out and all the attention from it not by getting his first root
