I would guess the doods are hoping for a little more of the personal connection side of things, as well as the sex. Like when you see a great escort and you would genuinely like to spend more time with her - possibly not even having sex the entire time 
To this point, I suppose it's a job interview of sorts. Candidates would be advised to put their best foot forward to stand the optimum chance of securing the role.
