In the spirit of free speech, Im going to share the email that many of us received today from NZG. I don't see that its sharing anything that you lot wont be finding out in the next few days anyway.

The many providers I have spoken to today already are less than happy about this, some VERY upset given how hard things are out there atm for us as it is. We were not consulted about this, and many feel that all it's going to do, is push punters to the sites that it's cheaper for us to advertise on anyway, where you can get our contact dets for free.

It simply feels like yet another money generating scheme for them, and not anything thats going to actually help us. It seems the suggestions that we do make about how to improve the function of the site for us fall on deaf ears anyway.

Im interested to hear your thoughts. I will leave the NZG contact link here, incase you wanted to send them your thoughts also 🫶

Good Afternoon

I just wanted to reach out to you and let you know about a new system update that will be coming on the 2nd of March 2026, for a trial period of 4- 6 weeks in Wellington and Christchurch.

This update is based on feedback we have received by you (the advertisers) etc. The consistent complaints of time wasters, no shows, rude messages and so forth, (as I'm sure you are aware).

Essentially the punters on the site will still be able to scroll for free, but when it comes to accessing numbers, they will be charged a small fee, that then gives them access to all numbers for 28 days - this will also give them access to our Members Lounge.

The purpose of this update, is fewer timewasters, less mental drain and more serious clients for you, the advertisers (you are our priority).

Your advertising will not change. Your profile, pricing and how you advertise, remains the same - no change. The only thing that will change is who can get through to you.

Exactly what I said!

The Escortify platform is a zillion times more streamlined and easier for us to use with way better functions anyway. Like being able actually update our own profile info and pics as often as we want, without having to wait for an NZG account manager to approve the changes, which can take ages and you can only do once every 5 days!

Ugh I only use NZGirls at the moment, it's going to be annoying to switch over to Escortify but if they make this change I absolutely will be. I'll absolutely have to even, NZGirls will die they do this.

This is so pointless and it PMO that it's framed as an attempt to help us escorts. This will undeniably hinder us massively. It's just another way for them to squeeze more money out of a market that is already struggling in the current economic climate.

Every client being expected to pay just to message us is ridiculous, there are a number of reasons clients message us but no booking results from it. Sometimes our schedules don't align, or if they just want more clarity on our services.

If this ends up being implemented NZGirls can go pound sand.
 
I love the way they have tried to frame it as a way to stop time wasters.

NEWSFLASH:

While it is annoying, all industries get timewasting tyre kickers an it is just something that has to be dealt with.

No matter what the cost is, the privacy issue will be large for many punters and I think it is pretty fair to say, it will result in a large drop off of enquiries for you.

It will , if it goes ahead, be the final death knell of the NZG empire
 
Clearly this strategy will push people in another direction. It’s like a news site having a paywall. Rather than push people away why not entice them to visit. Give them more of a reason to visit, Increase the number of eyeballs which gives more opportunity for advertisers and in turn more revenue generated.
 
I switched a while back, but this is just the latest in a long line of complaints: its ludicrously expensive, requires exclusivity, it hard to update because of account managers, and none of us have forgotten the re-design they pulled without talking to us.

NZG has clearly forgotten that we're the clients in that particular business relationship (if they ever did)
 
That’s the stupidest idea to come out of NZG/AF since AF appointed ‘community moderators’.

Clearly, they have once again consulted ‘The Ministry of Silly Ideas’. Absolutely hilarious that they’ve framed their paywall as ‘SW demand driven’ ….. when so many providers publish that same information on their websites.

Wonder how long the Wellington/Christchurch trial will lasts? Suspect a few days, tops - that is, assuming they take note of feedback.

They have never had sense of us being the actual paying customers, so this whole lack of consultation thing has been a forever theme.

Instead they make us feel like we should be grateful for the opportunity to receive the BS they serve up, that is way less functional, and way less user friendly yet somehow more expensive than their competitor and like you said then being unable to advertise elsewhere!

Yeh na! TOTAL BULLSHIT!
