Partner and I have been together 20+ years, and our OG sex life was insane. First person in my life that matched my own sex drive, but that was in the beginning, and hasn't been true for 10+ years. We still do have sex, but its once every two/three months and requires the stars and moon to align. That said, the rest of our relationship is good, and I've never met a single person who found a person who they could tick the sex box and everything else box long term.
I think divorce is the right path for some, but from my close friends who've gone that pathway instead of SW, they end up alone in so many ways. Whether its loss of family support, friend support, partner support, financial support, loss of kids respect, the list is long. So, its a Catch-22.

I stay for the kids. As I know they will get used against me if I leave. And I will not have access.
Pretty much a sexless marriage for the last +5 years. Sex was great before marriage, then became weaponised.
I decided life is too short, I'm not getting any younger.
So the silver lining is I tried SWers.
Best decision, helps me stay sane, stops me being resentful of my current situation.
Overall so many great experiences, met some amazing ladies - that I would not have met otherwise
And more to come...

I only asked because you used the term weaponized.
After the witholding sex starts, you can often get other controlling and abusive behaviours, even violence.
She can't stop you seeing the kids. I'm thinking your kids are not little ones so they can make their own decisions.
I left and it was the best thing I ever did.

For me it's a matter of variety and kinks. My wife is great and we consistently have sex once or twice a week, but sometimes I just want to fuck someone else.
